Summer 2025 Lecture Upper DivisionExamination of wellness and health promotion issues unique to three special populations: clients in rural areas, women, and adolescents. Legal and ethical issues related to practice with special populations is addressed. Evidence-based standards will be utilized.
Learning Outcomes1Analyze factors that influence the health of special populations and their health promotion/maintenance behaviors.
2Coach clients from special populations and their families to integrate health promotion strategies into self-care.
3Use evidence-based practice standards in the safe promotion of the health of adults and adolescents.
4Discuss ethical, financial, quality, policy and legal issues related to the care of special populations.
5Provide health promotion and preventative care that reflects knowledge of health promotion theories and barriers to health care to special populations.
