Fall 2025 Laboratory Lower DivisionLaboratory experiments designed to illustrate the lecture material of CHM 26100. Elementary laboratory techniques essential to organic chemistry are introduced, followed by the actual syntheses and purification of compounds discussed in CHM 26100.
Learning Outcomes1Use theory to understand/predict experimental observations.
2Demonstrate an understanding of the physical properties and a molecular understanding of chemical reactivity and materials.
3Document scientific information and experimental data and write scientific reports, with graphical presentation of data.
4Plan and perform chemical transformations.
5Recognize and use chemical instrumentation and spectroscopy.
6Identify and handle hazardous materials.
