Fall 2025 Instructors:

This course explores the various career opportunities available to accounting majors, as well as opportunities available to non-accounting majors who have a strong background in accounting. While most students believe public/private accounting are the only career options for accounting majors, we examine other avenues such as hedge funds, private equity and consulting, among others.

Learning Outcomes

1Identify potential career paths for both accounting and non-accounting majors with a strong accounting background.

2Demonstrate an understanding of the various tasks employees perform in several distinct careers.

3Develop the attributes necessary to succeed in various careers designed for individuals with an accounting major or a strong understanding of accounting (for non-accounting majors).
