The focus of this course is on the implementation of speech, language, and hearing services with preschool to secondary (P-12) school-aged children. Students develop a working knowledge of special education law, disability law, and other resources for school-aged children.

1Implement special education and disability laws.

2Select the most effective instructional strategies for English Language Learners.

3Explain the professional qualifications, roles and responsibilities related to speech-language pathology and audiology in a school setting.

4Describe tasks required for the provision of speech, language, and hearing services in a school setting.

5Have the knowledge and thinking skills to understand and evaluate research to incorporate evidence based strategies into clinical practice.
