Fall 2025 Instructors:
This course examines the theoretical aspects and clinical management of cognitive communication disorders with an emphasis on right hemisphere brain damage, traumatic brain injury, dementia, and other degenerative neurological conditions.
Learning Outcomes1Evaluate how the various theories of attention, memory, and executive function relate to the impairments observed in clients with cognitive communication disorders.
2Analyze assessments for how appropriate they are in evaluating clients with cognitive communication disorders.
3Identify evidence-based treatment interventions for cognitive impairments and use this knowledge to create treatment plans for clients with cognitive communication disorders.
