The Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) Learning Community will provide SLHS majors with an opportunity to connect with each other, with SLHS graduate students, and with SLHS faculty. Students will be exposed to a variety of different learning and career opportunities within the SLHS field. Participants will also enroll in SLHS 11500 (Introduction to Communication Sciences and Disorders).

Learning Outcomes

1Understand the role of speech-language pathologists and audiologists in the community.

2Understand the breadth and scope of career opportunities in the major.

3Understand how and why the sciences of speech, language, and hearing can improve human lives.
