Analysis of employee benefit plans, retirement needs analysis, and types of retirement plans including employer-sponsored plans and participant-directed plans.

Learning Outcomes

1Evaluate a client's retirement income and savings need.

2Explain important provisions of Social Security, The Affordable Care Act and Medicare.

3Differentiate between individual Retirement Arrangements including those used by individuals and small businesses.

4Know the rules relating to qualified retirement plans.

5Conduct an in-depth analysis of qualified plans (e.g. defined benefit, profit sharing, 401(k) plans, stock bonus plans, and ESOPs).

6Employ rules and strategies for appropriate retirement decumulation.

7Understand deferred compensation plans, stock option plans, and planning for executive compensation.
