This course is a first-year course in German, which covers two semesters in one. The course is appropriate for students who would like to accelerate the process of learning German, including GEARE students, graduate students, and others. The course will be conducted primarily in German and will use all modes of communication: interpersonal, presentational, and interpretive. The course book facilitates learning in context through the use of an integrated video program. The students are trained in the audio-visual interpretive mode of communication that is essential to carry out daily activities in Germany, and to be able to read and react to a variety of German texts. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer.
