This course is designed to introduce the novice researcher to the process of developing a research problem statement supported by literature resulting in a professional organization conference proposal and a proposal for a funding agency in the field of Learning Design and Technology. Permission of instructor required. Prerequisite: EDCI 67600.

Learning Outcomes

1Discuss current research in the LDT field.

2Formulate a problem statement, purpose statement, and research questions to drive a potential research study.

3Read, interpret, and synthesize current research to create a thoughtful review that is persuasive and reliable.

4Analyze and provide feedback to peers through a collaborative learning experience.

5Develop a research proposal that is ready to be put into place.

6Identify areas for improvement in the research proposal writing process.
