This course provides an overview of the theory, principles, and application of applied behavior analysis within positive behavior interventions and support. The course focuses on pre-service teacher preparation in designing and implementing group and individual behavior supports. Emphasis is on universal supports, targeted interventions, and data-driven decision-making.

Learning Outcomes

1Identify the basic principles of behavior and provide real-world examples.

2Create behavioral expectations and design a corresponding behavior matrix.

3Design class-wide reinforcement systems.

4Identify interventions to promote social emotional learning for all learners.

5Apply data-driven decision making to provide and evaluate a multi-tiered systems of support.

6Design tier-two targeted supports to teach appropriate behavior.

7Define behavior.

8Select appropriate behavior measurement system.

9Measure and graph behavior to assist in data-driven decision making.
