A study of literary or cinematic works that share distinctive formal features. A project-based capstone seminar containing a significant research component. May be repeated for credit only with a different topic.
Learning Outcomes1Demonstrate detailed knowledge of a single literary genre.
2Discuss that genre in relation to its diverse historical, cultural, and aesthetic contexts.
3Produce a substantial work or project: a research essay; a digital humanities project; a scholarly edition; or a comparable service learning project.
