Fall 2025 LectureThis course will provide students with the tools to succeed as a graduate student in the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences, which include good communication with their advisors, graduate fellowship proposal writing, giving good talks and posters, giving and receiving critical reviews, an understanding of regulations and graduate timelines, formulating a plan of study, and resources available to help graduate students succeed. Permission of instructor required.

4Provide and receive constructive criticism to and from colleagues, including understanding peer review.
5Understand how to give well-organized talks and eye-catching posters for department seminars and national meetings.
6Assemble an advisory committee, formulate a plan of study, and know the department regulations and what is required to graduate in a timely manner.
