Theory and practice of fisheries management, with emphasis on strategies utilized for the management of freshwater and marine fisheries. Course content will include hands-on assessment of fish populations, as well as development of management plans and the setting of appropriate goals and objectives for effective, science-based management.

2Compare and contrast a variety of fisheries management techniques with an emphasis on local fisheries.

3Demonstrate quantitative skills in population modeling and the writing of fisheries management plans.
