The subject matter will alternate between an in-depth study of a particular aspect of cognition (e.g., memory, belief, concepts) and a study of a specific explanatory framework in the philosophy of cognitive science (e.g., the computational theory of mind, predictive processing, gene-culture co-evolution).

Learning Outcomes

1Analyze advanced debates in contemporary cognitive science.

2Evaluate the distinct theoretical approaches to cognition employed in psychology, neuroscience, and computer science, respectively.

3Construct arguments to resolve conceptual problems and move current debates forward.
