Fall 2025 Lecture Lower DivisionThis course is a coordinated clinical/professional experience designed to expose students to various positions within the wellness community and how clinical interactions are embedded within fitness centers. In addition to weekly in-person class meetings, students will observe and practice professional and foundational skills at different clinical sites. Professional communication, interdisciplinary interactions, and self-reflection are key skills developed in this practicum.
Learning Outcomes1Describe effective and critically assess client-provider interactions, including professionalism in physical presentation and verbal/written communication.
2Demonstrate the following personal/professional competencies needed in future clinical roles: communication skills, teamwork, customer service, leadership, independence, and initiative.
3Professionally carry out all expected duties/responsibilities and identify individual strengths and areas for improved growth.
4Develop a personalized health, fitness, and wellness philosophy, based on interactions with individual clients.
