Spring 2026 Distance Learning Lecture Upper DivisionThis course will provide students with observation in various clinical settings. Students will establish a mentor with at least 1 site. Students may choose to pursue observations in various patient care environments, such as, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician clinics, cardiac rehab, etc. Permission of department required.
Learning Outcomes1Observe patient/practitioner interactions and patient centered care.
2Demonstrate basic skills related to medical practices in the field (i.e., therapy techniques, treatment modalities, medical procedures, patient assessment/screening, etc.).
3Describe how skills and content learned in previous courses can be applied to a clinical setting.
4Explain current best practices and scope of care necessary in their clinical setting.
5Model the behaviors and skills appropriate to the profession and clinical setting.
