Fall 2025 Studio Upper DivisionThis is an advanced-level course where students are project managers in a company-like environment within the Purdue Experience Studios. Students learn about management expectations within a UX design company as they work with multi-level teams on corporate-sponsored projects. Projects utilize a human-centered design approach with an emphasis on designing for the user experience. Students learn how to manage team leadership, including training project owners by planning, organizing, and running training and mentoring workshops. Permission of instructor required.
Learning Outcomes1Participate in setting up multiple teams with the goal of creating balanced and successful teams.
2Conduct effective 1on1 meetings to manage junior student's personal growth plan.
3Implement team-building skills with structured activities and workshops.
4Solve teamworking conflicts in a fair and effective manner.
5Demonstrate depth in UX management by documenting your skill development and growth throughout the semester in a written reflection document.
6Create an activity log of the process, goals, and outcomes to train new student managers.
7Train junior students how to communicate UX approaches to diverse stakeholders in a professional manner.
8Teach successful meeting etiquette, including agendas, action items, and follow-ups to junior students.
