Spring 2026 Studio Lecture Laboratory Upper DivisionThis course provides an opportunity for teams of game developers to focus on a project without distraction by competing course deliverables. Students propose a game project and spend the entire semester working only on that project. Course instructors will function as facilitators, producers, and supervisors, helping each student team scaffold their work such that all course goals are met.
Learning Outcomes1Decompose a large term game development project into an actionable sequence of smaller development tasks.
2Face emergent open-ended development challenges and either solve them or adapt to them as project goals require.
3Set short-term game production goals and consistently meet them.
4Self-evaluate completed work and iterate as necessary to ensure it meets the project's quality goals.
5Accept and incorporate criticism regarding one's work and use it to improve one's craft.
6Deliver criticism constructively that is in service to meeting project quality goals.
7Maintain group cohesion and morale across a physically separated accordance with industry best productions practices.
8Internalize and structure individual work habits in accordance with industry best production practices.
