Spring 2026 LectureResearch presentations by faculty members and graduate students and invited speakers. Includes attention to: (1) the responsible conduct of research, (2) professional/scholarly and teaching development, and (3) diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Learning Outcomes1Expose students to a wide swath of HDFS-related research across the life course.
2Provide a rotation of professional development trainings (e. g., vita, job talk, and conference presentation development).
3Foster teaching development through presentations, workshops, or trainings.
4Generate internal and external networking opportunities for graduate students.
5Address issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in HDFS by (a) providing a platform for increased representation in presenters, (b) critically considering how research in HDFS serves diverse (i. e., underrepresented/underserved/historically marginalized) populations, and (c) increasing our competencies related to DEI as part of professional development.
