Fall 2025 Lecture Lower DivisionIntroduction to fields related to Human Development and Family Science, including majors and career paths. You will meet faculty, alumni, and professionals working in related areas. You will be matched with an advanced student mentor who will help you learn how to become successful as a HDFS student and beyond. Required of all students majoring in the department. Non-majors interested in learning more about HDFS majors are also welcome.
Learning Outcomes1Demonstrate an understanding of the field of Human Development and Family Studies, including the disciplines represented, the topics studied, and associated careers.
2Identify the program options in HDFS and distinguish the requirements for his/her major by establishing a personal plan of study.
3Establish relationships with fellow students, student mentors, and faculty.
