Spring 2026 Laboratory Distance Learning Lecture Upper DivisionThis course provides experience in the business-related aspects of PLM tools and methods. Topics include identifying specifications and roles for system users within an organization, creating database models for digital product information, workflows, virtual machine installation and configuration of PLM systems, budgeting, and benchmarking.
Learning Outcomes1Identify specifications and requirements for users of PLM systems.
2Identify user roles and create them with appropriate permissions in a PLM system.
3Install and configure a PLM system to be used by student teams.
4Develop the product data model consistent with user requirements.
5Conduct basic benchmarking and budgeting activities for a PLM deployment.
