Fall 2026 Distance Learning Lecture Upper DivisionThis course applies theory and practice to training and talent development within organizations. Students will engage with the full cycle of training process, including needs assessment, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, and examine how these phases are applied in diverse organizational settings. Particular emphasis is placed on the integration of emerging digital learning technologies, such as virtual, augmented, and mixed reality as well as artificial intelligence. The implication of training for talent development and training are also highlighted in today's highly automated and digitalized workplace.
Learning Outcomes1Conduct a training needs assessment to design appropriate training activities.
2Write learning objectives for training activities.
3Design, develop, and implement training activities by integrating one of the emerging technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality.
4Evaluate training programs using multiple approaches.
