Fall 2025 Lecture Upper DivisionAn advanced course dealing with risk management and legal issues as they pertain to the interaction of designers, contractors, and owners. Students will learn to identify and mitigate potential risks that may affect the multiple stakeholders and the business organizations they represent during design and construction activity. The course will also deal with trust and teamwork issues within collaborative processes in the built environment.
Learning Outcomes1Identify potential risks for designers, contractors, and owners in a collaborative construction industry environment.
2Understand potential trust issues that inhibit collaboration within the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.
3Develop mitigation measures to reduce risk and increase collaboration within architecture, engineering, and construction interactions.
4Use clear and precise questions and consider diverse points of views when reasoning.
5Demonstrate ability to gather, assess, record, and compare relevant information in order to support conclusions and related consequences.
