Fall 2026 Lecture Lower DivisionA second orientation course to provide students interested in pre-pharmacy an introduction to the profession of pharmacy and to the Purdue University College of Pharmacy. Topics include personal development, academic program and career planning, pharmacy career opportunities, professionalism and ethics, and the Pharm.D. curriculum and the pharmacy admissions process. The course builds on PHPR 10000, but students are not required to have taken that course in order to enroll in this course.
Learning Outcomes1Identify personal strengths and weaknesses and a plan to build on this knowledge.
2Recognize the variety of traditional and non-traditional career options available in pharmacy.
3Develop a personal plan for career development.
4Reflect on how ethics and professionalism apply to the pharmacist's practice role.
5Obtain information to be able to outline the content and structure of the Pharm.D. curriculum as well as to be able to explain the professional program application process.
