Fall 2025 Laboratory Lecture Lower DivisionGross and microscopic study of body systems and topographic relationships in major animal species. Laboratory consists of dissection as well as study of living animals.
Learning Outcomes1Identify the Musculoskeletal. Students will be able to identify, draw and describe function of, in models, radiographs and live animals: major bones and bony prominences; major muscles; major nerves; major blood vessels associated with limbs; and describe long bone development.
2Identify the Thorax. Students will be able to identify, draw and describe, in models, radiographs and live animals: position of lungs, esophagus, trachea, major vessels, nerves and heart; pathway of blood through heart; position of thoracic and pleural cavities; and important topography.
3Identify the Abdomen. Students will be able to identify, draw and describe, in models, radiographs and live animals: position of major GI and reproductive organs, major vessels, and nerves; GI and UG development; position of abdominal and peritoneal cavities; and important topography.
4Identify the Head and Neck. Students will be able to identify and describe, in models, radiographs and live animals: major bones of skull; number teeth; major cavities of skull; major features of the eye and ear; major glands, vessels and nerves of the neck and skull; major topography of the head and neck; and major parts and function of the brain.
