This course is designed for students who require a one semester overview in preparation for biochemistry. Not recommended for majors in the College of Science. Learning Outcomes1Students will be able to use theory to understand/predict experimental observations.
2Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the physical properties and molecular understanding of chemical reactivity and materials.
3Students will be able to plan and perform chemical transformations based on functional groups, stereochemistry, and reaction conditions.
4Students will be familiar with IUPAC nomenclature for organic compounds.
