A literary study of selections from the Old and New Testaments as examples of Hebrew and early Christian literature.

1Explain the methods, objects of study, and applications of literary studies and the liberal arts, especially related to the Bible.

2Employ critical approaches from basic building blocks to more advanced ones suited to cultural complexities.

3Explain and employ different genres of reading, including argument through evidence and close reading.
