Fall 2025 Clinic Lecture Distance Learning Upper Division
Promotes the development of nursing skills when caring for families and their newborns during uncomplicated and/or complicated childbearing experiences within a variety of clinical settings. Emphasizes the study and application of the nursing process, integrating evidence based practice while meeting the health and safety needs of diverse childbearing families.
Learning Outcomes1Integrate theory and evidence to guide nursing practice and clinical decision-making throughout the care of childbearing families.
2Incorporate childbearing family participation throughout health promotion, disease prevention, and risk reduction processes.
3Address the childbearing family's developmental, physiologic, and psychological needs.
4Assess ethical, legal, and sociocultural influences on resource utilization and compassionate maternal-child health care delivery.
5Design targeted plans of care via a partnership with childbearing families, intra and interprofessional teams, professional organizations, and institutions.
6Utilize information technology to enhance learning, practice, and communication.
