Fall 2025 Instructors:

Students perform a structured analysis of an industry-based problem or design challenge, producing a professionally written project proposal. Students engage all aspects of a product or process engineering design proposal including problem analysis, identifying design requirements, conceptualizing, and communicating a solution. Students incorporate rigorous research and industry methodologies like Quality Functional Deployment, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, literature reviews, and project cost/ROI estimates to create and defend a written project proposal.

Learning Outcomes

1Integrate knowledge and skills to create a written project proposal reflecting proficiency at professional industry standards.

2Demonstrate application and proper use of problem-solving methods, tools and research practices salient to the aviation andaerospace industry.
