Fall 2025 Lecture Laboratory Credit By ExaminationUpper DivisionThis is a study of turbofan engines and systems. Engine installation, testing, and operational procedures are stressed. Emphasis is placed on performance evaluation, data calculations, and predictions of operational properties. Turbofan design theory, operational efficiencies, and fault isolation are discussed.
Learning Outcomes1Operate the test cell and perform parameter recording and thrust evaluations.
2Given an operable engine installation, remove the engine and simulate procedures to be followed to store the engine.
3Inspect, perform routine service and troubleshooting on turbine engine fuel system.
4Using the manufacturer's recommended procedures, simulate adjustment of the fuel metering system and electronic fuel control on a turbine engine.
5Inspect, check, service, troubleshoot, and repair turbine engine airflow, pressure and temperature measurement systems.
