This course is designed for students who are preparing for careers as professional pilots or dispatchers and require an advanced knowledge of the impact of weather on aviation operations.
Learning Outcomes1Develop increased awareness of meteorology and its application to aviation operations.
2Demonstrate knowledge of aviation meteorological concepts, with an emphasis on meteorological hazards for instrument flight operations.
3Demonstrate the use of aviation weather data types and sources.
4Develop expertise in obtaining and evaluating appropriate weather data, and in integrating these data into the preflight planning required for a professionally-flown instrument flight.
