This course addresses advanced aviation topics to include high speed aerodynamics, automated cockpit instrumentation, domestic/international flight operations, and global navigation.

Learning Outcomes

1Explain subsonic and transonic aerodynamic principles and how they relate to aircraft design and performance.

2Analyze issues related to CFIT, upset recovery, wind shear, in-flight and low altitude wake encounters, volcanic ash, anti-de-icing, and crossing restrictions/climb and descent planning.

3Interpret RNP, RNAV, GPS, and Q route IFR charts.

4Reflect upon, and internalize concepts of professional conduct and professionalism as a professional aviator.
