Fall 2025 Instructors:

Provides an introduction regarding the business and strategy challenges faced by managers in our global economy, regardless of whether the firm is a small domestic company or a large multi-national. Major topics for the course include motivations and challenges of internationalization, international business fundamentals, foreign market entry strategies, organizing across countries, analyzing global industries, building competitive advantage in global industries, and the influence of culture and institutions. Prerequisite: MGMT 65000.

Learning Outcomes

1Understand the three foundation characteristics related to foreign market entry - firm, industry, and institutional factors.

2Analyze country choice for entry and the factors involved in choosing a country.

3Develop the essential skills to identify and pursue global business opportunities, with a focus on the different modes of entry.

4Acquire the skills to resolve management decision problems in global markets, and analyze multi-country organizational structures.
