A beginning Italian course with emphasis on communicative skills (listening and speaking), literacy (reading and writing) and culture.

Learning Outcomes

1Recognize familiar words and very basic phrases.

2Speak and write simple phrases and sentences.

3Interact in a basic way, provided the other person is prepared to repeat or rephrase things at a slower rate of speech and help the student to formulate the intended thought.

4Ask and answer simple questions in areas of immediate need or on very familiar topics.
