Spring 2026 Studio Lecture Upper DivisionThis course focuses on theoretical and practical understanding of the essential principles and fundamentals of directing for the stage. Students will learn a proven directorial methodology and engage in essential research and written and practical presentations throughout. Permission of instructor required.
Learning Outcomes1Identify, classify, and critique elements of drama and the requirements of production with depth and imagination.
2Analyze plays for production.
3Articulate aspects of student's own personal aesthetic orally, visually, and in writing.
4Integrate skills in play analysis, intuitive contemplation, research, composition techniques, and various rehearsal strategies to stage dramatic texts.
