Fall 2025 Lecture Upper DivisionTaken by students in the Applied Statistics Master's program who have participated in the Statistical Consulting Service (STAT 59700). Focus is on addressing statistical consultation problems that involve either design of experiments or statistical analysis. Problems involve written reports and oral presentations. Permission of instructor required.
Learning Outcomes1Determining an appropriate design of an experiment.
2Choosing an appropriate statistical method whose analysis addresses the client's questions given the available data.
3Implementing various statistical methods via software and summarizing the output for the client.
4Recognize problematic issues in the consulting/collaboration process and implement various strategies to address them.
