Topics covered include research methodology, individual differences, personnel selection, performance measurement, training, motivation, job satisfaction, emotions, work stress, and leadership.
Learning Outcomes1Describe the origin, historical development, and current advances of I-O Psychology.
2Explain and apply the use of scientific methods in I-O Psychology to analyze findings and claims related to research in the workplace.
3Define and illustrate key theories (e.g., job characteristics model), concepts (e.g., job performance), and techniques (e.g., job analysis) in I-O Psychology.
4Analyze and integrate I-O Psychology theories and findings from different scholarly traditions (e.g., personality, situation) and different topics (e.g., motivation, leadership).
5Apply I-O Psychology theories, techniques, and findings to evaluate work conditions and generate possible evidence-based solutions to improve work lives.
