Fall 2025 Lecture Lower DivisionEDCI 21000 is the first course in a two course, introductory sequence for College of Education students enrolled in the Honors College and/or Devito Program scholarship recipients. In this course, we will examine key concepts and ideas in educational thought and research, understand what research is, and begin to explore individual students' research interests.
Learning Outcomes1Introduced to key concepts and ideas in educational thought, e.g.,democracy; diversity; equity; teaching, learning, and testing; creativity; and technology.
2Examine how educational researchers conceptualize and conduct research.
3Explore research interests in education, and how to access resources to further develop those interests.
4Introduced to campus-based academic resources.
5Complete multiple writing assignments to develop scholarly writing skills.
