Fall 2025 Lecture Upper DivisionReview of the theories applied in mesoscale meteorology, including semi-geostrophic systems and frontogenesis, symmetric instability, rainbands and inertia-gravity waves, sea-breeze, terrain effects, mountain waves, lee-vortices and cyclogenesis, convection, convective instability, low-level jets, drylines, and squall lines. Prior course work in synoptic labs and vector calculus is required.
