Spring 2026 Lecture Distance Learning Upper DivisionThe fundamental principles of fluid mechanics are developed, including properties of fluid, pressure, hydrostatics, dynamics of fluid flow, friction losses, and sizing of pipes. Emphasis is on problem solving.
Learning Outcomes1Apply hydrostatic equations to static and dynamic fluid problems.
2Solve problems involving flow over immersed bodies.
3Analyze piping systems for closed conduit flow.
4Select pumps to optimize open and closed loop flow systems.
