Fall 2025 Instructors:

Kinematics and kinetics principles of rigid-body dynamics are introduced. Emphasis is on the analysis of bodies in plane motion.

Learning Outcomes

1Identify the type of solution method required for dynamics problems.

2Use kinematics, work/energy principles, conservation of energy, impulse/momentum, or conservation of momentum to solve dynamics problems.

3Identify the correct coordinate system type for various dynamics problems.

4Calculate the mass moment of inertia for basic and composite shapes.

5Use mass moment of inertia when solving a dynamics problem.
