Fall 2025 Lecture Upper DivisionFollowing a review of fundamental concepts, advanced power and refrigeration cycles are analyzed. Applications such as gas mixtures, air-vapor mixtures, and chemical reactions of combustion processes are presented.
Learning Outcomes1Use thermodynamic properties of gases and vapors in system analysis.
2Apply the first and second laws of thermodynamics to real and ideal systems.
3Analyze thermodynamic cycles (e.g., Otto, Diesel, Brayton, Rankine, vapor compression).
4Compute properties of gas mixtures.
