Introduction to the principles of remote sensing, aerial photo interpretation, photogrammetry, geographic information systems, and global positioning systems. Primary applications of geospatial science and technology in forestry and natural resources.

Learning Outcomes

1Understand remote sensing fundamentals and gain knowledge about the applications of remotely sensed data in vegetation and land use.

2Exercise relevant computer software (Erdas Imagine) for handling and aerial photographs and satellite imagery.

3Use remote sensing skills to solve problems associated with agriculture, forestry, natural resources, and urban areas.
