Fall 2025 Instructors:

History of the occurrence, exploitation, and management of North America's wildlife resources. Life histories, habitat relationships, and human impacts on selected species. Current conservation practices and future prospects.

Learning Outcomes

1Identify and describe the diversity of North American wildlife and their habitats in order to improve their ecological study and aid in their management and conservation.

2Describe and explain fundamental concepts and theories in the field of ecology in order to inform different wildlife conservation and management strategies.

3Compare and contrast the various anthropogenic threats to wildlife in order to synthesize and evaluate their impacts on wildlife.

4Explain and apply approaches and tools used in wildlife conservation and management in order to address anthropogenic threats to wildlife.

5Evaluate primary literature in order to analyze the merits and weaknesses of current research in the fields of ecology, conservation, and management as they relate to major wildlife groups.
