Spring 2025 Lecture Distance Learning Upper DivisionJEDIHumanitiesis a content-based course that includes an overview of Spanish grammar. Students will therefore be required to learn a considerable amount of information about the different aspects of the Hispanic, Peninsular and Latin American culture that will include history, politics, art, gastronomy, music, traditions, and literature, among others.
Learning Outcomes1Develop and demonstrate an advanced level of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through the study of content-based materials.
2Acquire a broad panoramic view of the different cultures and traditions in the Hispanic world, including Hispanics in the U.S. (The specific area of studies will be Central America and Caribbean South America.)
3Identify and compare cultural traits through the study of history, art, food, pop culture, literature, music, current events and other aspects.
4Demonstrate the ability to interpret and critique the culture through different types of written and oral materials, and reflect on how these topics relate to their own values and experiences.
