This course is an introduction to painting, emphasizing fundamental painting techniques and materials in conjunction with varied subject matter. Traditional and nontraditional approaches and their art historical meanings will be examined and applied.
Learning Outcomes1Recognize, identify and employ techniques and methods from both historical and contemporary painting.
2Create quality craftsmanship and employ professional practice in painting.
3Demonstrate a comprehension of course content through implementing the use of grisaille, glazing, value, color, line, texture and mark making within painting.
