Designed to introduce advanced level students to single subject research methodology in context of a science of human behavior, including design theory and application, measurement, experimental validity, applied behavior analysis, and data analysis procedures.

Learning Outcomes

1Demonstrate knowledge about the various single subject research designs and variations of each.

2Demonstrate the ability to conduct reliable visual analysis, understand value of effect size for single subject design, and calculate effect size.

3Demonstrate knowledge of the criteria for designing and evaluating high-quality, rigorous single subject design studies.

4Demonstrate knowledge of the application of single subject research methodology in clinical and educational settings including designing, conducting, and analyzing a single subject study.
