Learning Outcomes1Identify nutrients needed by animals, know how those were determined and what are the consequences of their deficiencies.
2Specify and understand how nutrients are digested and obtained differently in nonruminant and ruminant animals.
3Identify how feeds are evaluated for their nutrient content and common feeds according to classification.
4Determine quantitatively what feeds meet animal requirements (ration balancing).
5Specify, compare and contrast feeding methods and procedures for providing for the nutritional needs of animals.
