Fall 2024 Lecture Distance Learning Upper DivisionThis course provides future engineering/technology education teachers with information on designing, organizing, and managing engineering/technology education facilities. An in-depth study of specific laboratory requirements related to safety is covered. Management skills related to students, equipment, and supplies are addressed. Students design an engineering/technology education laboratory.
Learning Outcomes1Develop techniques for planning and organizing laboratory tools, supplies, and equipment for efficient and educationally sound laboratory operation.
2Explain the importance of safety in engineering/technology education facilities and prescribed methods of rendering facilities safe for student activities.
3Describe government requirements and mandates related to the engineering/technology education laboratory.
4Develop a system for inventory, purchase, and maintenance of equipment and supplies for an instructional facility.
5Design an engineering/technology education laboratory.
