In the first half of the core diagnostic imaging course, emphasis is on how images are made using current technology. Although radiography is emphasized, imaging modalities such as ultrasonography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, scintigraphy, and thermography are discussed. In the second half of the course, types of lesions that can be observed in large and small animals with the various imaging modalities are explained. The course is offered once annually, and its successful completion is required for any of the elective courses offered by Diagnostic Imaging. Typically offered Fall Summer.
